The Waiting Game, Part 2

Last week's aspiration and subsequent culture didn't uncover anything. The culture was normal, but my breast is still swollen and acting as if it is infected.

My breast specialist surgeon put me on a second antibiotic that is used for staph infections. I am also still on Levaquin, which is for skin and respiratory infections. At 1700 mg of antibiotics a day for 10 days, the hope is that whatever infection is there won't be able to survive much longer.

I go back to my breast specialist on Thursday for another ultrasound of the breast to check the status of things. In the meantime, no radiation.

I'm looking forward to having the infection and radiation behind me.

Once again, the waiting is the hardest part....
