I visited my surgeon yesterday. The cultures were negative, which means that the antibiotics are working. I just wish they would work faster!!!
My surgeon aspirated the lumpectomy site again (ouch) and wrote me a prescription for another 11 days of antibiotics. She also referred me to a physical therapist who specializes in treating swelling from surgery. The therapist will do some massage and will teach me how to self-massage to help with the swelling. She will also fit me for a compression bra that should help control the swelling somewhat.
So I'm going to get that massage after all. Let's hope it does the trick!
